Family Visit to Start 2013

We were so excited to have 1/2 of Cuban Daddy's family visit us for a week.  They came a couple days after Christmas, so it was fun to have them here to celebrate the New Year.

CD's mom, aunt/tia (on her first trip from Cuba!!), G, J, J, (my niece & nephew) & K...
all ready to head out

The cousins  (ages 4 1/2, 17, 14, 2 1/2)

Sisters.  (CD's mom on left)

For New Year's Eve, we had a good time!  We loaded up & SQUEEZED into a van to ride around to look at lights at a huge display.

My riding buddy was the best!

They had a place where you could get out, walk around, have snacks, warm drinks, visit Santa, ride ponies, etc.  Very fun!

Our slightly sugar-deprived children ate this cotton candy as if it were about to be stolen from them. Ha!

A little warm up

Santa was no longer there since it was after Christmas, but we checked out his seat anyway!

Pony rides!!

Cuban Daddy & G                                Tio M & K

My wonderful mother-in-law (seriously!) & my amazing Aunt/Tia X.
* This was the first time I had ever met her, as she lives in Cuba, and has never been to the States before.  It had been years since these sisters had been together.  What an awesome time!

Taking silly pics & then looking at themselves.  Love it!

My awesome sister in law & beautiful niece

She's such a good sport, haha!

We decided to have a lot of 'my' side of the family over to hang out with 'his' side, since this is a rare occurance.  It was really fun & really special.

4 of the 5 little cousins singing Christmas carols to everyone.  So cute!

We had the privilege of taking my Aunt on her first EVER trip to Target.
Overwhelming, as you can imagine!  K was a great escort. ;)

For some reason, the rest of the house didn't want to wake at 5:00 am, so we tried to keep G & K w/ us for a while in the mornings.  Thank God for the iPad.

Big cousin, J, going through the kids' new photo scrapbooks w/ them.

Little G (doing a pull up on high bar) had a HUGE audience of her biggest fans cheering her on at gymnastics practice.  She was SO proud to have everyone watching!

K's first corndog.  Not.a.fan.  I don't blame him...ew!

We took a day trip to mine & Cuban Daddy's alma mater.  We wanted to show our niece the campus, as she'll be off to college soon.  She's so smart & talented, we know she can go anywhere, but we'd love to have her close! We had a fun day, walking around & reminiscing.

The cousins:

Who knows...

It was pretty cold out, but everyone was a trooper.

These girls love each other!                   These guys do too!

Cool cousins

Haha, they're too funny!

Maybe?  One day?!

A very sad goodbye to Cuban Daddy's aunt,
whom we don't know if we'll ever see again.  So. hard.

At the end of our huge family hang out.
Special times & special memories.
I'm excited to get to show the kids these photos when they get older.

What a special visit.  We were happy to have them here & sad to see them leave.
Until next time,

~ 6 in Love ~
