Summer 2013 Recap

Summer 2013 was F.U.N.

I loved spending time with the kids, doing fun things, playing outside, seeing friends, adventuring.
Here are a few (Ha) pics from those quick, hot Georgia months:

G's 5th birthday is right at the end of the school year/start of summer.  We made our 3rd annual trip to the Cabbage Patch Hospital so she could 'adopt a baby.'
A day that she, my mom, and I all LOVE!
With her newborn son, "Nate Nate."

Also for her birthday, she wanted her ears pierced.
My younger brother, who is an amazingly talented artist (tattoos & piercings too), volunteered to pierce them at his shop.  He was SO good & quick.  We were SO happy with them!  Best part of all: Not.a.SINGLE.tear!!!!!!  Not so much as a flinch!

The 'after' shot.  LOVE this!  Thanks Uncle Cam!

We rode bikes:

We took gymnastics classes
(little one, front, black leo)

...and in turquoise/gold below:

...and watched gymnastics classes:
A weekly promise of $1 popcorn was too good to pass up.

We went to parks

We had picnics

And we went on adventures.

We went to the (free!) movies a few times:

And even freer (Huh?!)- had movie days at our house:

We ate in our playroom

...and out at our favorite place.

We did a little modeling:
No, it wasn't me.  Thanks for asking though.

We created our own gymnastics routines & obstacle courses:

We picked blueberries & veggies at my grandparents' house:
...and they helped me cook dinner using all of our fresh veggies that night!  And ate them, yes they did.

We participated in Dance Camp:

We got creative.

We attended fun parties:

We managed a family mall trip.
If you're a man & you have to go to the mall- at least look tough doing it.

We had our first (& only) Happy Meal

...and played with some of our best friends!
Love your ADOPT shirt, N!

We devoured  licked the bowl clean  enjoyed ice cream!

We went to the American Girl store!

We got to know our local Chickfila employees by name (oops) &
participated in Cow Day!

We made an out of state day trip to visit some of our
favorite friends!

We went to the Zoo with some of our other favorite friends!
(Seriously, we are blessed with amazing friends in our lives.  So, so thankful for them!)
There was no puking involved this time, which was exciting.

We played football & baseball, just the 2 or 3 or 4 of us.

We embraced the holidays, & talked about freedom, sacrifice, and the love for our great country.

We went to church.
And almost made it on time...once.

We cuddled...

...and snuggled.
And pretended to sleep.

We made pallets in each other's room.
And once, they actually napped like that!

Sometimes, we acted sweet...

But mostly we were silly.
(legs in the shirt sleeves, ha)

I even had time with MY friends!  =)

Cuban Daddy & I made a whirlwind of a trip & hauled to central Florida for a few days.  As in maybe 3 days?  Anyways, we packed up his mom's house and moved her into his brother's house.  Whew!
But, the last night, after she was all moved out, we splurged on a beachside hotel!  Okay, so Cuban Daddy did his thing, and it was 1/2 off (awesome!), but still.  :)

He and his mom had to do a couple of errands the next morning.  And I was left...
to sleep in.
with this view.
and this one.
Ah-mazing.

We celebrated 9 years of marriage!
(This pic was during the dating stage.  Boy is he handsome!)

All in all, it was a really awesome summer.

Sure, sometimes they were climbing the walls.
Literally.

Other times, they weren't:

I know we did other things, played with other friends, saw family, slept once or twice, and went swimming.  Don't know where all those pictures are (for tonight), but the memories are there.  :)

We really enjoyed our time together, and I did my best to soak up the moments & make them count.

And I really look forward to doing life this way with 4 one day!

Hope your summer was awesome too!
(Yep, I know it's January.  Better late than never?)
