Early this past Fall, Cuban Daddy & I made a whirlwind 2 night long trip to Florida. We helped his mom pack up her entire house & clean it, as she had a contract on it to sell. We then helped her (temporarily) move into Cuban Daddy's brother's house, putting the majority of her thing in storage. She stayed with them for a couple months. Then, Cuban Daddy flew down to FL & helped her officially move to Georgia! Now she lives only about 25 minutes away. It's been a good change for her, a fresh start. (Remember that her husband, my beloved father in law, went to be with the Lord a year before). She's enjoying her new apartment, making new friends, going to a new church, and learning the surrounding area. We're enjoying getting to see her at least every week. The kids love having her near!
The last time cooking in her 'old' kitchen!
She's an amazing cook! Cuban Daddy's mouth waters the whole drive down.
She should open her own Cuban restaurant- yum!
Our last real meal in the old house, after spending the day packing everything up.
Goodbye, sweet house.
Hello new place!
I was honored to get to help pick out her new furniture & decor. A clean slate.
We all love her new place! It's just perfect for her.
Someone looks HAPPY!
CD's older brother helped her move up. We were happy to get to see him for a bit too.
The kids' first visit to Abuela's new place.
(She insisted on eating at their table.)
Welcome to Georgia, Abuela!
We're glad you are here.
